Always Attack the Second Serve
The Situation
Your opponent hits a second serve after a fault.
What To Do
Step forward and attack the second serve more aggressively than the first. Earlier contact point, more pace or a sharper return angle.
Why It Works
The second serve is by definition more defensive โ the server reduced pace or changed placement just to get it in. That defensiveness is your opportunity. Players who treat first and second serves identically waste the most significant free pressure opportunity in the game.
Court Positioning
