Test Every Opponent Backhand in the First Game
The Situation
The match has just started and you need to gather information.
What To Do
In the first game deliberately hit three or four balls to each opponent backhand. Note the response โ does quality drop? Do they look uncomfortable? Do they try to run around it?
Why It Works
Many players have a weaker backhand and testing it early gives you a reliable data point for the entire match. Players who run around their backhand reveal their pattern immediately โ you then have a clear targeting strategy before the match is even one game old.
Court Positioning
Shot direction arrows showing systematic targeting of both opponents backhand sides during first game observation phase.
