Absorb Pace on Hard-Hit Balls โ Do Not Swing
The Situation
Your opponent hits a powerful shot directly at you from close range.
What To Do
Do not swing. Hold the racket firm and let the ball hit it โ absorb the pace and redirect it back. Think of your racket as a wall, not a bat.
Why It Works
Against a hard shot there is no time to swing. The block and absorption technique uses the opponent's own pace against them and puts the ball back with control. Trying to swing at a fast incoming ball almost always results in a mis-hit or an error.
