The Wall Slows Down โ Wait For It
The Situation
A ball bounces off the back wall toward you fast and you feel rushed.
What To Do
Stop. Breathe. Let the ball come to you. The wall always decelerates the ball โ every single time. You have significantly more time than your instincts are telling you.
Why It Works
The number one wall mistake is rushing. Players who swing early off the wall mis-hit because they have not allowed the deceleration to happen. Trust the physics โ the ball loses pace against the glass. This is the foundational mental shift required for wall play.
Court Positioning
Ball hits back wall at pace โ rebounds toward center but decelerating. Player waits, lets ball travel toward them โ strikes with full swing from set position, not reaching.
