Step Closer to Net After Playing a Weak Overhead
The Situation
You have just played a bandeja that was not deep enough and opponents are in a good position.
What To Do
After a short or weak overhead immediately step one pace closer to the net. This compensates for the poor placement by reducing opponents' passing angles.
Why It Works
A weak overhead that sits up invites a pass or a drive at your feet. Stepping closer compresses the available angles and forces opponents to attempt a more difficult lob over your head rather than a comfortable pass. It turns a defensive mistake into a recoverable situation.
Court Positioning
