Volley Down at Feet โ€” Not at the Body

volleynetcontrol

The Situation

You are at the net and receive a medium-height ball you can control.

What To Do

Punch the volley downward toward the feet of the nearest opponent. Do not aim at their body โ€” aim at the floor in front of them.

Why It Works

A ball at the feet cannot be attacked from an aggressive position. The opponent must lift it, giving you another volley at an even higher contact point. Net rallies in padel are won by accumulation โ€” first volley creates pressure, second volley finishes.

Court Positioning

Net player (1m from net) โ†’ punches volley steeply downward. Ball lands just past net at opponent's feet. Opponent forced to scoop upward on reply.
