Fake the Volley Direction to Wrong-Foot Opponents
The Situation
Opponents have started reading your volley direction accurately and are retrieving balls you expect to win.
What To Do
Shape your racket as if going cross-court then redirect down the line at the last moment. The deception works best on mid-height balls where you have time to disguise.
Why It Works
At advanced level opponents read your shoulder and racket face to anticipate volley direction. A convincing fake causes them to commit their weight in the wrong direction โ even a half-step the wrong way makes a well-placed volley unretrievable. Use it sparingly: two or three times per match for maximum surprise value.

Mirror Your Partner's Lateral Movement
