Never Both Players on the Same Side of the Court

positioningcourt coveragepair play

The Situation

During a rally you realize you and your partner are both on the same side of the court.

What To Do

Immediately call it โ€” one player moves to cover the open side. Decide in advance who moves in this situation: usually the player not involved in the last shot.

Why It Works

Both players on the same side is the single most common positioning error in amateur padel. It leaves exactly half the court open and is almost always punished immediately. Pre-agreeing on who moves removes hesitation in the moment.

Court Positioning

Both players drifted right โ†’ entire left half of court is empty โ†’ one player calls and immediately slides left โ†’ balanced coverage restored before opponents exploit gap.
